Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame: And The Inductees Are?.

The latest crop of Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees were announced yesterday and it’s quite an illustrious list. The artists who will be inducted at next year’s ceremony are Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Darlene Love, and The Alice Cooper Band. We think that to properly honor Diamond, the ceremony should be held at Fenway Park where he can be serenaded by 40,000 Bostonians drunkenly slurring the words to “Sweet Caroline,” but that’s just our opinion. While the list contains all notable and deserving musicians who deserve to join the Hall of Fame, it’s worth mentioning who was left off the list as well.
Artists are eligible for the Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first single or album, so who was rock-blocked? Well, there were The Beastie Boys, who seem entirely too young to be inducted so that makes us feel old - and our parents are probably cursing the fact that the group who sang “You’ve Gotta Fight For Your Right (To Party)” is considered legendary. Also not included were Bon Jovi, The Smiths and LL Cool J. Seriously, we feel SO old. But eligibility never expires, so there’s always the chance that next year, young artists like Justin Bieber and Willow Smith will join forces to honor their predecessors with a “How Soon Is Now?/Round The Way Girl/Livin’ On A Prayer” medley. Fingers crossed?
